Wrestler and actor “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has let the cat out of the bag: John Carpenter’s 1988 film “They Live,” starring Piper as a drifter who fends off an alien invasion, was not science fiction but a documentary. You might remember that Piper’s character was armed with special sunglasses that allowed him to see the aliens walking among us, secretly controlling the media, banking and the government. He was also armed with a shotgun, and it sounds like Piper’s determined to keep it if “They” try to take it.
