Today is POW/MIA Remembrance Day, a day to remember prisoners of war and the 83,000 Americans still missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War, the Vietnam War and the 1991 Gulf War. Some recognized the historical significance of the day by posting photos of those who made it home.

The DPMO announced yesterday that the remains of Air Force two pilots recently retrieved would be buried at Arlington National Cemetery Sept. 23. Maj. James E. Sizemore of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Maj. Howard V. Andre Jr., of Memphis, Tenn., disappeared over Laos on July 8, 1969, but will finally find their final resting place next week, with full military honors.
