The Supreme Court ruled in June that Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act was unconstitutional, freeing several jurisdictions in Southern states to decide for themselves how to conduct their elections. Texas announced that it would move ahead almost immediately with its voter ID legislation, but today Attorney General Eric Holder singled out Texas in a speech to the National Urban League in Philadelphia, promising legal action to reinstate what the Supreme Court struck down.
Holder obviously doesn’t know not to mess with Texas, and neither does Fox News host Bob Beckel. On “The Five” today, Beckel praised Holder’s speech, explaining that in Texas, the sheriffs run the elections, and you know how those sheriffs in Texas are.
@RobertGBeckel "Do you know what sheriffs in Texas are like?" Really Bob? Stereotype and profile much?

@ericbolling ask Bob what exactly are Texas sheriffs like? That's pretty broad speculation.

@RobertGBeckel Bob please list the Texas counties/districts who discriminate against voters. Come here and talk.

Love you Foxnews but will stop watching if you let Beckel talk about Texas.

@ericbolling Why don't you correct Bob. Sheriffs don't run elections in Texas. You guys let him slip in all kinds of misinformation
— phillip pierce (@piercepr) July 25, 2013
@FNTheFive Bechel say's "no honky's allowed"…really. Sounds racist to me. Also Bob, Sheriffs do not run the elections in Texas.

Why is Bob Beckel lying about Texas? #TheFive

Bob has a lot of bigotry towards the South. RT @secondpatriot76: Why is Bob Beckel lying about Texas? #TheFive

Managing to insult an entire state is quite a feat, but maybe Beckel should work his way up through some smaller states first before taking on Texas.
@TheFiveOnFox This is Texas calling. please tell Bob Beckel to go put it where the sun doesn't shine . this is the best state in the union.
