Bette Midler already sent her thanks to the IRS for targeting conservative groups, but in the two days since, we’ve learned a little more about what was going on. Even President Obama claimed that Americans should be angry about the IRS singling out groups for harassment and intimidation on an ideological basis, but Midler can’t contain her glee.
It’s OK that the IRS was delaying approval of groups with “patriot” on their applications while demanding reading lists, Facebook posts and children’s names, because the Tea Party promotes hate. Can you believe some of those tea-baggers were caught criticizing how the country is run? When is Obama going to put AttackWatch.com back up anyway?
@BetteMidler Not cool. Identifying "hate groups" by certain words in their name is equal to profiling. The IRS was wrong. #NoToProfiling
