Sportswriter Rick Reilly has a point: nothing the government does stops criminals from buying semi-automatic rifles illegally. If only the Senate had the courage earlier this month to ban terrorist bombings … it would have done about as much to have prevented the Boston Marathon bombing as universal background checks. As Reuters reported, “neither brother appears to have been legally entitled to own or carry firearms where they lived.”
Rick Reilly’s misdirected shot at Congress fouled out with followers who would prefer to place the blame where it belongs.
His weapons were illegal Mr. Low Information Voter RT @ReillyRick: Boston bomber on terror watch list but doesn't stop you from buying guns.

@ReillyRick show me where he bought a gun. I'm surprised you liberals aren't trying to ban pressure cookers.

@ReillyRick guy sets off a bomb to kill people and you still want to blame guns? Seriously?

@ReillyRick I believe he obtained them illegally.

@ReillyRick know the facts before you look stupid. They were not licensed weapons. Illegally obtained. Another law doesn't stop that

@ReillyRick Actually it does keep you from buying one. Amazing how many people believe bkground cks aren't required to buy guns.
