OK, this should be good. Actor Jim Carrey tweeted the same message individually to every United States senator in advance of tomorrow’s expected vote, but we’re most looking forward to a response from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who has threatened a filibuster. Cruz might be a little busy to respond, but we know he’s not one to back away from criticism, and repeated his stand in a tweet this morning.
Our rights as Americans matter most in times of crisis. If we don’t defend & uphold the Bill of Rights & Constitution, it cannot protect us.

In the meantime, the people are speaking up for themselves.

@JimCarrey @SenToomey Speak for yourself, as a disabled vet and sportsman you'd deny my freedom for legislation that won't prevent SandyHook

@JimCarrey @SenatorFischer Where do you get most maybe in your liberal circle but not in my vet circle.

@JimCarrey @SenToomey real Pennsylvanian here asking you to protect the 2nd Amendment & not give the gov more power. I don't even own guns.

Will a cut-and-paste campaign and funny emoticon from the “Dumb and Dumber” star change hearts and minds on Capitol Hill?
Advice for @JimCarrey: Your words'll have more impact if you send tweets that aren't copy & pasted! Get personal. It'll get you heard better
