Allen West recount continues after emergency injunction fails; Teamsters show up to 'observe'; Update: Count resumes Sunday

A woman on scene at the St. Lucie County, Fla., recount of votes in the hotly contested race between Rep. Allen West and challenger Patrick Murphy is reporting that a last-minute attempt by Murphy’s lawyers to block the recount has failed. A reporter for the Palm Beach Post confirms the report.

The recount of 37,379 ballots from early voting began this morning after a 2-1 decision by the St. Lucie County canvassing board last night to go ahead with the recount. The decision came after a box of more than 300 unread ballots was found in an office.

Packed in among volunteers are three members of the U.S. House Administration Committee who appeared at West’s request. Also stopping by, according to one West supporter, were several Teamsters.

It’s looking like a mandatory hand recount might be triggered if the margin is narrowed to less than one half of one percent, according to Florida law.

things look very good for Allen West, just 127 more votes and he'll get a mandatory hand recount of every ballot cast in all 3 counties.

Update:

There’s some talk that the recount could be complete by as soon as 11 p.m. In the meantime, Murphy’s attorney was tagged with an Allen West campaign sticker.

UPDATE ALLEN WEST – SOMETHING ODD AND FISHY PER @Gary_Galiano – they are shutting the mall down at 11 (an abandoned mall) for the alarm is set automatically at that time. They counted 37k votes in 12 hours but can’t count 304 votes in 2 hours. They kept yapping about the deadline and now this. SOMETHING IS ROTTEN IN DENMARK FOLKS BE PREPARED. They want to come back at 8am and their deadline is tomorrow by NOON.
