So, what path does one take to get to the idea that Republican men are defending rape? Sophia Bush seems to have been set off by a Huffington Post piece inspired by a YouTube video titled, “Paul Ryan: Rape Is Just Another ‘Method Of Conception’.”
Paul Ryan called rape a "METHOD OF CONCEPTION" & NO news media is talking about it!? video: http://t.co/eCcBvR1v #WTF #BackOffMyUterus #Rape

The problem is, Ryan never said rape was “just another” method of conception. In context, Ryan tells a reporter in Virginia, “the method of conception doesn’t change the definition of life,” before reiterating that Mitt Romney’s policy on abortion “has exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.”
@SophiaBush Paul Ryan didn't say anything wrong in the clip. He is merely saying that a life is a life even if it was conceived via rape.

Never mind: the same people who tried to tie Ryan to Rep. Todd Akin’s ill-informed “shut that whole thing down” comment are now furious that Ryan has said rape can lead to conception.
@SophiaBush Are you F***ing kidding me?! It's not a method of conception, it's a violation against women! I'm so at lost for words right now

People accused Ryan of plagiarizing President Obama when he insisted, “Rape is rape, period. End of story.” So, can we call this plagiarism too, or just paraphrasing?
@SophiaBush Wonderfully put. I am SO TIRED of this republican ignorance. RAPE IS RAPE. Why can't they get that through their heads?!

Rape, sexual assault, any time a woman is harassed against her will — it's ALL legitimate. And horrifying. How dare anyone say otherwise.

Ladies, if you don't want to be relegated back to the 1950's, I urge you to look @ what candidates are planning to do with YOUR rights. #FEM

And I urge you to not stereotype all #gop (men especially) as out to get your uterus or approving of rape. @SophiaBush

@AAARF then elect better reps. Because these idiots are burying themselves under a mountain of shit, very quickly.

I will only vote for a man who understands that my body, as a woman, belongs to ME & me ALONE. #RapeIsAllLegitimate #BackOffMyUterus #Women

No uterus, no opinion? Don’t tell that to the man whose HuffPo opinion piece got this thread started.
