Devo to record song, release game about Mitt Romney's dog Seamus

Devo announced today that the band is releasing a song devoted to Mitt Romney’s dog, Seamus. Romney famously strapped the dog’s kennel to the roof of his car during a family road trip in 1983 — three years after Devo last had a hit.

Devo’s official Twitter account announced the song as “The Crate Escape.” Follow-up reports in Rolling Stone and other outlets, though, refer to a track called “Don’t Roof Rack Me Bro.” “The Crate Escape” is set to be a smartphone app “that lets Seamus get revenge against his arch enemy, Mitt Romney.”

Devo aren’t the only ones trying to squeeze relevance from the Seamus story; President Obama himself took a swipe today at a stop in Oskaloosa, Iowa, quoting Romney as saying you can’t drive a car with a windmill on it. “I don’t know if he’s actually tried that,” Obama joked. “I know he’s had other things on his car.”

Only one question remains: which band is going to step up and set #ObamaEatsDogsHaiku to music?
