All branches of the military are bad at this, but the U.S. Air Force seems to be the worst repeat offender. We’re seven days into Pride Month (MONTH …) and the Air Force has posted its contribution to the festivities.
But first, let’s revisit some of the Air Force’s previous tweets. The Air Force joined with the Biden administration last year in celebrating Transgender Day of Awareness with an interview with the highest-ranking openly transgender Department of Defense officer. And here’s last year’s Pride Month offering, which had people asking … where’s the American flag?

It’s just clip art, but still, it sure looks like this year’s entry features an airman saluting the Pride flag:
June is #PrideMonth! The Department of the Air Force proudly recognizes and celebrates generations of LGBTQI+ service members and their contributions to our #AirForce & #SpaceForce. pic.twitter.com/lQi9lH5sdr

I have a lot of questions but first what does bisexuality and intersex have to do with the USAF?
— Gus (@Gus_802) June 7, 2023
Yeah, so based solely on the replies here I think it's pretty clear why the Armed Forces is having trouble recruiting.

Can we please just start over and build a new Air Force? This one seems to have expired.

As a retired Air Force officer I am humiliated by the state of the service.
No credible American and no actual Airmen would salute anything but the American flag. Celebrating a military member saluting a pride flag is not just embarrassing it is traitorous. The current senior…

Seriously? Saluting a rainbow flag?
Why?

This is why you can’t reach your recruiting numbers.

It’s illegal for a branch of the US Military to salute anything but the US Flag.
What the US Air Force is doing here is disgraceful.

Disgraceful, take this post down

When I was in the Air Force being gay was optional. I’m glad I got out before it became mandatory. 👊💯

Can you just.. not?
— Five Times August (@FiveTimesAugust) June 7, 2023
It is illegal to salute another flag if you are a service member. Take this down.
— Thomas Musket ⓒ (@ThomasMusket) June 7, 2023
So we’re saluting the Rainbow Flag now?
— MJ Tomko (@Tomko_1) June 7, 2023
You're saluting a political propaganda flag? No more oath tho the US Constitution? Just wokeness? Can y'all still fly planes? Can you even land them? If there's a war, we are all screwed . . .
— New Sons of Liberty (@NSOL_USA) June 7, 2023
Disgrace. Nice ratio though 🤡

As people mentioned in another post, burning the American flag is freedom of expression, but burning the Pride flag is considered a hate crime. Maybe the American flag is triggering to liberals, but a lot of us still think the military especially should treat it with respect.
