This editor is usually fine playing the pronoun game and going along with referring to people like Rachel Levine and Lia Thomas as “she.” But it’s really difficult to do the same with TikTok tycoon Dylan Mulvaney or to consider Mulvaney a member of the trans community. His transition to “girlhood” consists of wearing hair extensions and dresses and tittering like a 12-year-old. It’s an act, and a profitable one.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is late to the party, with Bud Light already losing $5 billion in market value, but according to The Hill, the HRC is telling Anheuser-Busch that it’s “absolutely critical” at this moment to stand with Mulvaney. The vice president of marketing has already been sent packing and Budweiser has come out with an ad that makes it look like Bud is running for the 2024 GOP nomination.
“In this moment, it is absolutely critical for Anheuser-Busch to stand in solidarity with Dylan and the trans community,” reads a letter obtained by The Hill sent to Anheuser-Busch’s head of human resources by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. https://t.co/6lNvLybPXB

The Hill reports:
“In this moment, it is absolutely critical for Anheuser-Busch to stand in solidarity with Dylan and the trans community,” reads the April 26 letter obtained by The Hill.
“However, when faced with anti-LGBTQ+ and transphobic criticism, Anheuser-Busch’s actions demonstrate a profound lack of fortitude in upholding its values of diversity, equity, and inclusion to employees, customers, shareholders and the LGBTQ+ community.”
“This not only lends credence to hate-filled rhetoric, it exposes Anheuser-Busch to long-term business impacts with employees and customers increasingly looking for steadfast commitment to LGBTQ+ corporate citizenships,” Brown wrote.

Anheuser-Busch already knows perfectly well about long-term business impacts with customers, who aren’t looking for a steadfast commitment to LGBTQ causes but rather a decent beer.

Yes please stand in solidarity with this man who degrades real women everywhere while boasting his five o’clock shadow in ladies clothing. #BudLight needs to double down.

No, their only obligation is to their shareholders, who are not happy with their marketing disaster.

The HRC is threatening to put them on the naughty list. How did this dude get all these gigs? Who thought this was a good idea

Your move @AnheuserBusch sales or no sales. MSM keeps pushing this narrative and like your beer, we’re not buying it.

@budlight all you had to do was stay out of politics and run ads of people drinking beer at a tailgate or pool party….but no, you had to get woke. Enjoy this shit show you created!

Yeah, if they want to lose more money they should do that.
If they want to stop losing money, they should admit their mistake and stop insulting both men and women by pretending a man can be a female if he dresses like one and puts on makeup.

Bud Light certainly wouldn’t like to lose the whopping transgender market.
Hey corporations: Mulvaney may have a lot of TikTok followers but he’s also toxic and will kill your brand. It’s pretty simple.
