Rep. Maxwell Frost would love to see committee bring in Gov. Ron DeSantis, who's limiting free speech

Here’s something we missed in our House Oversight Committee meeting coverage Wednesday. Rep. Maxwell Frost of Florida, who’s best known for being only 26 and a sitting congressman, is trying to make himself known as the next AOC: loud, liberal, and underinformed. Florida’s Voice reports that Frost suggested during Wednesday’s committee meeting that the committee bring in Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who’s been abusing his power to limit free speech.

Florida’s Voice reports:

During the GOP House Oversight Committee meeting Wednesday, Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-FL, floated the idea of bringing in governors, such as Gov. Ron DeSantis, to testify for “limiting free speech.”

The hearing is the House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s “first step in examining the coordination between the federal government and Big Tech to restrict protected speech and interfere in the democratic process.”

“I have a venue in my district that he’s revoking the liquor license of trying to close because they had a drag show. We have teachers who are not able to teach the curriculum that they want because they disagree with Ron DeSantis and his view of the world,” Frost said.

At least part of that is true. DeSantis is threatening to revoke the liquor licenses of a couple of venues that allowed minors into the sexually explicit “Drag Queen Christmas” tour. DeSantis warned them it was their responsibility to keep children out.

They’ll get some good video clips for DeSantis campaign ads.
