16 high schools in Northern Virginia delayed notifying students of their national merit recognition

As Twitchy reported back on December 23, parent Asra Nomani learned that her son was a National Merit Commended Scholar … two years after he earned the award. It seems it was all about the school’s push for equity and targeted Asian students.

That’s a big deal — national merit awards look very good on college applications, and there are national merit scholarships on the line.

You’ll see some tweets here that 13 Northern Virginia schools have been found to have delayed notifications, but according to 7News DC, the number jumped to 16 on Tuesday:

The Hill reports that Gov. Glenn Youngkin has knocked schools over their “maniacal focus” on equality.

Yeah, he didn’t do that. He called out their maniacal focus on “equity.” Equality is equally distributed opportunity — equity is equally distributed outcomes.

Either everyone is named a national merit scholar or nobody is, all in the name of “equity.”
