Forget the “haters” who claim that Democrats were the ones calling to defund the police and replace them with social workers — Lightfoot has put more police officers on the street. But we thought they were all racists.

The city is not safe. The state of Illinois has gotten progressively worse. There is crime now in areas and neighborhoods that used to be safe. When people are getting carjacked and robbed in places like Lincoln Square and Lakeview, there are problems.

Seriously, does anyone believe this? The safest big city in America? We’re old enough to remember when President Trump was ready to send in help, but Lightfoot said that under no circumstances will she let Trump’s “troops” terrorize the citizens of Chicago. But she loves the cops.
