As Twitchy reported earlier, the New York Times has a piece today called “Biden, Storyteller in Chief, Spins Yarns that Often Unravel.” In other words, he lies … but he does it in a lovable, folksy manner so no one minds.
Last November, while touting his infrastructure plan, Biden relayed how important bridges are to emergency services, recalling the time that he “had a house burn down with my wife in it”; fortunately, Jill got out safely. Even Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler, who’d do anything to carry water for Biden, said all he could find was a 2004 report of “a small fire that was contained to the kitchen” and “was under control in 20 minutes.”
Biden recently repeated the story while visiting Florida in the wake of Hurricane Ian, saying that he once “lost an awful lot” of his home in a fire, so he could empathize with the storm damage.
Biden repeated the story Tuesday while talking about firefighters, and in this version, they almost lost a couple of firefighters.
Joe Biden just claimed today that "we almost lost a couple firefighters" when lightning struck his home 15 years ago.
According to a report from the time, the lighting strike caused "a small fire contained to the kitchen" that "was under control in 20 minutes." pic.twitter.com/9EvWGeIs6H

I cannot believe he’s the President of the United States

Neither can he

He lies about *everything* just to make himself seem more relatable.

Does he ever tell the truth?
— AmericanWoman_USA (@AmericanwomanU1) October 11, 2022
At this point, is he lying or just forgetting what actually happened?! 😂

This was during his years as a Puerto Rican truck driver.

Who were these heroic firefighters that almost lost their lives?

“This isn’t hyperbole”. “All kidding aside”. “I’m not joking here”. All part of every speech he makes.

He lies when he doesn’t have to lie, when the lie doesn’t even really benefit him.
— Jeff (@JeffAthwart) October 11, 2022
It’s just a stutter Greg.

😂 He just keeps embellishing that ridiculous story. Next week, he'll have run back into the house to save 4 imaginary children.
— JCrow (@jlc225) October 11, 2022
He’s like your crazy rich super intelligent uncle at the Christmas dinner table. You just pray he eats and leaves before he offends anyone or lies non stop.
— AmyLiz (@AmyLiz2345) October 11, 2022
It wasn’t lightning, Hunter was making meth.

Any time Biden tells a story, you know he's lying. Every single time. It's pathological. I truly don't understand why he does it, or what he thinks he's gaining by it, especially since in many cases there is evidence that disproves what he is claiming.

That’s why the New York Times had to step in today and try to make Biden’s “yarns” seem “folksy.”
