We knew we had a hot take when popular voice actor Tara Strong (“Rugrats,” “Powerpuff Girls”) suggested that President Joe Biden set up a (mandatory) nationwide AR-15 buyback and then ship all the assault rifles collected to Ukraine, where they need more gun violence in the streets. We ridiculed her at the time, but now the City of Miami is holding a gun buyback program and says that all guns collected will be sent to Ukraine.

So when Russia invaded Ukraine, it suddenly became a good idea for citizens to be armed. With AR-15s, especially. But Americans have no use for guns, except for hunting, of course. And they’re right, Ukraine isn’t going to want the junk they collect.
