As Twitchy reported last week, Politico’s Jack Shafer had a new article up titled, “Why Republicans Will Regret Icing Out the Press.” He mentioned Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in particular, whose press secretary Christina Pushaw informed Shafer that “It’s just that he doesn’t care. And he doesn’t want to give you clicks or ratings.” He isn’t worried about negative press, she added, saying “you’re always negative.”
DeSantis’ deputy press secretary says that “The View” reached out to him on Friday saying they would be honored if DeSantis would appear as a guest. So, should he do it?
.@TheView emailed our office on Friday asking for us to arrange an appearance from Governor DeSantis on the show. "We would be honored," they wrote.

I would not acknowledge their existence. I’ve never met a person who watches this show, honestly it seems the only press it ever gets is from conservatives making fun of it

Well, I wouldn't go in person.
You gotta know that studio is just clouded with a mix of Ben-Gay, kasha, and Estée Lauder.
I mean granted, there's plenty of ribbon candy and Activia in the green room, but is it worth it?

Haha they aren’t ready for him. Florida Man takes the view! pic.twitter.com/LXetTKWAE5

Don't do it.

I say go for it. We all know what it will be — or what they'll try to make it be.
But DeSantis is awfully crafty in rhetorical battle.

I’d say absolutely yes, but the first time Whoopi screams over him, he walks out before they have a chance to. Get an agreement ahead. She screams, I walk.

Do it. Desantis needs to demonstrate his reslience in such kinds of politically hostile environments. If he pulls it off, it'll be a spectacle.

They've never been fair to a single conservative they've had on. I don't know why the Governor would spare his time for them. That's just me.

On one hand I’d say pass as they have shown that they cannot engage in any honest/intelligent debates, but on the other hand I’d put our governor up against anyone when it comes to having the knowledge and savvy to debate the hard issues.
— Mark Hoeller (@MarkHoeller) August 1, 2022
Do it. He can handle it.
— Nicole Russell (@russell_nm) August 1, 2022
Do it. He can handle those biddies.

Why give them opportunity to use the governor to create content?
— DB (@DBOtherP) August 1, 2022
You know the hosts are hostile, the audience members are hostile … sure, he could hold his own, but why bother? He’s not going to win over Joy Behar no matter what he says.
