Don’t misunderstand Sen. Chris Murphy right now, because he wants to be 100 percent clear. If Republicans take the House and Senate (as expected) this fall and the White House in 2024 (which is also a good bet), they’ll do what Democrats never got around to doing: passing a national abortion ban. This would fly in the face of the Dobbs decision, which kicked the abortion rights battle back to the individual states. He guarantees, though, that “women and doctors will be locked up for practicing health care.” We can go along with a lot of the Left’s language, but calling an abortion “health care” is a bridge too far … whose health is being cared for?
Let’s be 100% clear. If Republicans win control of the House, Senate and White House two years from now, they will pass a national abortion ban. And no matter where you live, no matter how pro-choice your state is, women and doctors will be locked up for practicing health care.
