In case you missed it, Johnny Depp essentially won his defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard; the jury found that Heard must pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages. Over at The Root, black women are claiming to be the real losers in the trial, but according to Rolling Stone, which knows a thing or two about defamation after falsely accusing several college students of gang rape, they’re reporting that domestic violence survivors are “sickened” by the verdict.

Rolling Stone even consulted an “expert” who said that “this is basically the end of #MeToo.”
If it has "expert says" in it: Doubt it.

I’m a survivor … standing with the true survivor, Johnny Depp ♥️

Survivor here and definitely think the verdict was fair and just. Definitely not sickened by this.

Don’t really have your finger on the pulse of the issue as it pertains to survivors, do you? 🙄

No. A win for Johnny Depp is a win for ALL survivors.

It's only the "end" of #MeToo to the extent you think #MeToo stands for assuming truth and guilt based on the accuser's gender. An absurdity. The correct answer is to thoroughly investigate every credible accusation to determine the truth.

At this point, I’m unsubscribing to every single mainstream media outlet because this is ridiculous

Nothing to do with “men”
— PRESIDENT YA GROOVE (@Riccardo_Elle) June 1, 2022
You have NOT been talking to any survivors. But we have seen them speak up on YouTube, Tiktok, Twitter, etc. About the real abuse they lived and how Amber was mocking them. But you can't spin this narrative anymore. The era of you controlling what people think is over. #TruthWins

VICE News was also pretty butthurt by the jury’s decision.
