MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace puts 'parental choice' in scare quotes, compares it to Russians raping children

OK, that’s quite a headline, we’ll admit, but we’ve watched the video a couple of times, and MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace really does manage to draw a line from Govs. Glenn Youngkin and Ron DeSantis arguing for “parental choice” to Russian soldiers in Ukraine raping children. You see, the legislation that Youngkin and DeSantis are pushing dehumanizes people — we’re assuming the LGBTQIA+ community — and when you dehumanize people, that’s something done in wars to excuse atrocities against the supposed enemy.

As we told you Monday, an NBC News reporter reached out to DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw for comment on a story he was doing about the increased harassment of LGBTQ young people online in the wake of the passing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill. We’re curious how many examples the reporter had to prove a link between the two, but his deadline, as always, was ASAP.

Anyway, prepare for your jaw to drop:

Hey, isn’t this the network that Jen Psaki is going to work for?

Again, we’ll note how she put air quotes around “parental choice.” We’ve already been warned by the experts in media that “parents’ rights” are “a centerpiece of a GOP that is increasingly hostile to public education and democracy” and is just code for “white race politics.”
