It’s been four years since 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were killed in a mass shooting. The Biden administration marked the anniversary by rolling out its whole-of-government strategy to reduce gun violence. Among the things the administration will be addressing are the root causes of gun violence, which are apparently a lack of educational and economic opportunities. The White House also promises unprecedented funding of effective community violence intervention programs.
