We’re not sure why Spotify is bending the knee at all over critics of Joe Rogan; losing Neil Young and Joni Mitchell is not that big of a deal in defense of free speech, but like most tech companies, it seems it wants to prove it’s woke. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek wrote to staffers that he didn’t believe silencing Rogan was the answer — but he did promise to invest $100 million toward content from “historically marginalized groups.” Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wrote a check for only $10 million to Ibram X. Kendi’s Center for Antiracist Research.

And investing in these historically marginalized groups is not going to get them anywhere close to Rogan’s audience.

Yeah, wasn’t the problem that Rogan was putting out COVID-19 misinformation?

If these marginalized groups get $100 million to produce content for Spotify, are they still marginalized?
