In a recent post, we told you about Jen Psaki responding to a question about evidence that the ISIS leader who was killed by a U.S. strike in Syria had a suicide vest, essentially asking the NPR reporter, are you going to believe ISIS or are you going to believe the U.S. military? In that same post we mentioned State Department spokesman Ned Price asking an AP reporter if he wanted to “find solace in information that the Russians are putting out” if he doubted the credibility of the U.S. government. Here’s video again:
State Dept.: Russia is going to launch a false flag attack as a pretext to invade Ukraine.
Reporter: What's your evidence?
State Dept.: I just gave it to you.
Reporter: No, you made an allegation.
State Dept.: Yes, that's the evidence.

The reporter is the AP’s Matt Lee, and yes, he’s looking for evidence of this false flag operation. The Hill has posted the exchange, where it’s been retweeted more than 2,000 times.
Reporter: “It’s an action that you say they have taken, but you have shown no evidence to confirm that. […] This is like – crisis actors? Really? This is like Alex Jones territory you’re getting into now.”
Must-watch exchange between @APDiploWriter Matt Lee and @StateDeptSpox. pic.twitter.com/RPIPb2zwf5

“How could I be saying this if it wasn’t true?”

Make no mistake @StateDeptSpox we doubt every claim this admin makes. Our Govt has been caught in too many lies just to take your word for it. This entire admin is run by a bunch of blithering idiots who think we're going to be dazzled by words like classified info and Russia.

"The evidence is because I said so"?

I am glad I clicked on this. But also, obviously, not that I saw it.

“Protecting sources and methods” is code for “we made it up.”

The Biden administration is going to carry out an attack on Russian troops and give them reason to retaliate and then claim the Russians false flagged the whole thing, giving the US justification to enter a defensive war and drag in every allied member of NATO.

This reporter has been in this business longer than this cheesy little brat has been alive. AND when Russia does NOT do what he’s claiming (b/c they never were) he & Biden will say THEY scared Russia into NOT doing it

Matt: "Where is the proof?"
Ned: "It's been declassified and released."
Matt: "Where was it released?"
Ned: "It was released."
Matt: "Where?"
Ned: "It's been released."— sureal808 (@sureal808) February 3, 2022
More of this. Thank you Matt Lee. When the evidence is just “believe what I’m saying” That’s exactly what gets us into 20 year/$4 trillion wars.

It's 6 years too late, but it's good to see the press finally got some spine back. I wonder what changed?🤔

the best part is that he genuinely seems baffled that anyone would question the credibility of the American and British governments.

You can actually see the moment he realizes he screwed up. It’s great!

The mental gymnastics this guy has to jump through is insane. Hiding behind "protecting methods" simply isn't good enough in light of past mistakes. If Price wants to make assertions he needs to back them up. "Because we said so" simply isn't good enough.

Frankly we need more sceptical journalism and less obsequious journalism

Thank you @APDiploWriter for demanding a real answer instead of the unfortunate now-too-often head nod and move along from many of your peers.

And it’s made the news …
— HZN (@mikehzn) February 3, 2022
So Russia is going to stage an attack in Ukraine to make it look like the U.S. attacked them first to justify invading Ukraine.
