Mask harder: Los Angeles public schools mandating students to wear upgraded, non-cloth masks

CNN medical analyst Dr. Leana Wen first gave the game away a couple of weeks ago when she admitted on air that cloth masks “are little more than facial decoration.” She walked it back a bit, saying she was only coming out in favor of mandating better masks: three-ply surgical masks at a minimum, with N95 or KN95 masks being preferred.

That message found its way to the Los Angeles Unified School District, which is reportedly mandating students to wear a non-cloth mask with a nose wire at all times. Someone whose glasses continually fogged up finally made the connection that breath was escaping those masks.
