It was an emotional day on Capitol Hill as members of Congress shared their stories from January 6 a year ago. Some got it off their chest at the time, like AOC telling her Instagram followers how she thought she was going to die, even though she was in an office building separate from the Capitol where the riot was taking place. She was speaking her truth, though.
Sen. Chuck Schumer has been sitting on this story for a year; we guess he was just waiting for the right moment. He recalls being just feet away from the insurrectionists, who spotted him and shouted, “There’s the big Jew, let’s get him.”
