One thing we’re reminded of in this clip from Sarah Silverman’s podcast is the need for the term, “cis women.” The thinking goes that trans women are women, period; but if you are a woman who was born female, they’ve come up with a term to distinguish you: cis woman. The point is, there’s a reason that there are words to distinguish one from the other, and that reason is they’re not the same thing. One has a distinct advantage in athletic competition, for example.

California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner is in hot water with the LGBTQ community for coming about against biological males playing in girls’ sports, and Silverman thinks that’s ridiculous. Don’t tall girls have an advantage over short girls?
