We thought this would be a slow Saturday but it turns out to be a moment of truth: history demands that you either stand with Rep. Ilhan Omar, despite her anti-Semitic remarks and description of the 9/11 terrorist attacks as, “Some people did something,” or you stand with President Trump and the Islamophobes and racists who’d incite violence against her by quoting her own words.
Now the other Muslim member of Congress has spoken out, and she’s sort of put Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic Party on blast.
The attacks on @IlhanMN and subsequent lack of support from Democratic leadership continues to prove that this system was never meant for us.
Do not applaud diversity and the “first” Muslims in any space if you’re not willing to be a true ally and defend us.#IStandwithIlhan

They put us in photos when they want to show our party is diverse. However, when we ask to be at the table, or speak up about issues that impact who we are, what we fight for & why we ran in the first place, we are ignored. To truly honor our diversity is to never silence us. https://t.co/7T1OlwS1YG

So what she’s saying is that Democrats just put Tlaib and Omar in photos to show how diverse the party is, but they don’t really listen to them.
Huh.
Man your party sounds super racist. https://t.co/yyfnclYU3g

Would Tlaib say she's being used as a token?
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) April 13, 2019
Watching Rashida Tlaib come to the revelation of what we've already known about the Democrat Party is quite the fireworks show.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) April 13, 2019
You mean Democrats are just using people of color and ethnic minorities as props? GTFO!

But they all looked so chummy together on the cover of Rolling Stone. Guess that was just a photo op to get Pelosi in a photo with a Muslim.
I sincerely hope that @AOC , @IlhanMN , and you will be running the Democrat Party soon.
— Jason Call (@AnalogDriver) April 13, 2019
Are you kidding? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is already running the Democrat Party. Pelosi lost control a while ago.
@SpeakerPelosi is complicit in islamophobia.

WE MUST MAKE ROOM FOR ANTISEMITISM AT THE TABLE

Preach!
Good. So no more tweets of sucking up to Pelosi and other Democratic leaders. You can still show them respect, but stop trying to align too much with them and adhered to what they want Ever. Their values are not yours. Donors are first. You are not "in this together "

A unified party is what we need. I understand you feel disregarded, but that discussion might take place off social media. Our party has depth and differences. Let’s use that to our advantage. The right will seize your words and further divide us. I support you and our party.
— Tracy Tredennick (@ttlcsw) April 13, 2019
Please do not fall for tricks to divide Democrats. Trump wins of we are not working together. Speak to leadership instead of tweet. Be a part of the solution.
— Deb Bagan (@ElastiDeb) April 13, 2019
Oh no, this revolution is going to be played out on Twitter, out in the open. Chances of getting Ocasio-Cortez to stop tweeting are about as good as getting President Trump to close his Twitter account.
Please keep pushing this. I love a good cat fight between Democrats.
