We were hoping to get through a day without another pose about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (or “Cortez,” as she likes to be called) but like her nemesis Donald Trump, she just can’t stop tweeting. We’re wondering if she’ll tweet next that President Trump “loves” the Special Olympics since he just announced he’s fully restoring federal funding for it.
Breaking: “The Special Olympics olympics will be funded. … I just authorized the funding of the Special Olympics,” Trump says. “I have overridden my people.”

In any case, her target today was Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, who said that she loves the Special Olympics — which, as others noted before, is not a federal program and is mostly donor-funded.
Betsy DeVos “loves” the Special Olympics so much, she wants to cut federal funding for it.
She “loves” students so much, she changed rules to make campus sexual assault victims more vulnerable.
And she “loves” teachers so much she wants to cut student loan forgiveness, too. https://t.co/Jv20rTVIu4

There’s so much wrong with this tweet it’s tough to know where to start. So, if you truly “love” teachers, you’ll forgive student loans? And is it wrong to cut federal funding to a program that’s primarily donor-funded when the current national debt is $22 trillion?
But most of all, we’re tired of the very dangerous myth that DeVos has made campus sexual assault victims more vulnerable — by revising Title IX guidance to restore due process, so sexual assault cases are handled by the police and not tried in kangaroo courts set up by the school’s Gender Studies department. (And as an aside, 2020 hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand “loves” campus justice so much she invited rape-hoaxer Emma “Mattress Girl” Sulkowicz as her State of the Union guest.)
This is such a balderdash summary of DeVos' position on campus sexual assault. Protecting the accused (who are often black) from a campus kangaroo court is a good thing. https://t.co/gjQADWjtJv

Does the federal government have to provide money for everything people like? No, we’d go bankrupt.
As for sex assault, she is demanding basic due process. Does due process help or hurt the legal system in this country?
When you attack this policy you’re advocating for mob rule https://t.co/nvpdokaIK2

AOC "loves" carbon reduction so much, she takes Ubers and planes instead of subway and trains.
She "loves" justice reform so much, she's against due process on campuses.
And she "loves" global warming solutions so much she wants to shutter nuclear plants and ignore fusion. https://t.co/TH36Yk3Nau

Deep thoughts from #AOC:
You don't really love something unless you want the federal government to pay for it.#BetsyDeVos #BetsyDeVosHatesSpecialNeedsKids #AOC https://t.co/TH36Yk3Nau

You can love and support something without expecting the federal government to pay for it.
No, seriously. You can! https://t.co/czGOR32Gsi— Seamus (@SeamusPotStir) March 28, 2019
Is that the new measure of love?
How much of other people's money you are willing to give to things? https://t.co/9rMsaLuBYD

Reading this again, I am getting more irritated by it. @AOC is literally now measuring one's ability to "love" by what one believes the federal government should fund or regulate. https://t.co/nnPWNsjO2i

AOC loves her Green New Deal so much that she didn't even vote in favor of it. https://t.co/tCaItUKHMo

And the Senate “loved” it 0-57.
@AOC loves illegal aliens so much she's rather give them shelter before any homeless vet. https://t.co/PuZebA6TLX
