As Twitchy reported earlier, Fox News’ Chris Wallace said that Jim Acosta’s behavior at today’s White House press briefing with President Trump was “shameful.” In case you missed it, CNN’s Acosta went full Resistance and refused to hand over the microphone to a White House staffer so that another reporter could, you know, have a chance to ask a question rather than stand there and showboat.
CNN Communications released a statement backing up Acosta, but Wallace’s comment made the rounds and triggered CNN’s vice president of communications and digital partnerships, Matt Dornic, who fired back:
Hey Chris, at least @Acosta doesn’t work for state TV. Must be hard to sleep at night. Also, curious, I can’t find your comments about how “shameful” it was when your colleagues campaigned for @realDonaldTrump the other night. https://t.co/jKgL6QJznW
— Matt Dornic (@mdornic) November 7, 2018
I like how you didn’t disagree that Acosta’s behavior was shameful.
— Adam Trahan (@AdamTrahan) November 7, 2018
In case there’s any confusion. I couldn’t be prouder of @Acosta. The only shameful behavior I witnessed came from behind (and then to the side, then behind again) the podium.
— Matt Dornic (@mdornic) November 7, 2018
Do you teach all your reporters how push women away?
— Just Brad (@bradcundiff) November 7, 2018
Well they didn't shove a woman! Yours did. And they didn't exacerbate the situation by talking over colleagues and taking their time. There. You're welcome. https://t.co/rGkAPvk9F9
— Longbranch Saloon ?? (@Delmonicos_OK) November 7, 2018
That is your defense? You think @Acosta can treat women with disrespect because he works at CNN @mdornic ? https://t.co/y8I2C5oXzk
— Elle Woods (@NotHardvardLaw) November 7, 2018
Why does CNN hate women?
— Jobs Not Mobs (@tcat0169) November 7, 2018
He acted like a spoiled child. Was given his time for questions then when the POTUS called on another reporter he threw a tantrum. It was shameful. He does not get to keep asking questions until he thinks he’s had enough.
— mickbrizzie ? (@mickbrizzie) November 7, 2018
Your network was awfully silent in the Obama years. Not sure you see the glaring hypocrisy in this statement. @Acosta needs to do more reporting and less advocacy.
— The Duke (@MDlucas22) November 7, 2018
This millennial @CNNPR dumbf**k whose network bloviates about freedom of the press while attacking ANOTHER news network about being "state tv". Learn the difference btw a journalist & opinion commentator.

Are you really going with the state tv thing? ????
— Magdalena (@latinachica9) November 7, 2018
Why did you just go full hack and yell "FAUX NEWS"?
— Fed Dept of No Sh*t (@NoShitDept) November 7, 2018
I'd rather be called State TV than the Media wing of the hysterical Democratic Party. @CNNSUCKS. https://t.co/HtX6XiVheb
— Based_ Hoosier (@DevilishlyGoyim) November 7, 2018
I'm old enough to remember when @CNN WAS state TV. The more things change….
— Jeff Godwin (@JeffGodwin) November 7, 2018
Of course, CNN was state TV during the Obama years and you guys are still upset you lost your seat of power.
— Ben Peterson (@jazzfan71) November 7, 2018
#CNN was state tv before it was cool…
— Jae Sea (@JaeSea1) November 7, 2018
Oh Chris dosent have anything on CNN when it comes to campaigning for candidates, on one side.
— scott coleman ? (@bandphan) November 7, 2018
You political activists really stick together. Good on ya.
— DG (@7pints) November 7, 2018
What you say when you don’t understand the difference beteeen a guy that has a political talk show and a guy that’s supposed to be a “nonpartisan” reporter. https://t.co/mgPCUgHUUT
— David (@davidepearson) November 7, 2018
Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro are not journalists and don’t claim to be. On the other hand your pathetic excuse of a so called journalist is a White House Correspondent who is supposed to ask questions and not political statements.
— tom dudley (@thmsmajor) November 8, 2018
Will @Acosta follow in @seanhannity 's footsteps and be honest about his political leanings? https://t.co/1k60Tz36Yp
— Lauren Williams (@laurenpaige1985) November 7, 2018
Just give Acosta the opinion show he’s been auditioning for and let someone else handle reporting from the briefing room.
Only difference between Acosta and Hannity is that Hannity doesn't pretend to be a neutral journalist.
Chris Wallace is top notch. You should be ashamed of your network and your attack on Wallace. Wallace isn't Hannity, Acosta, Ingraham, Cuomo or Lemon. He's a solid journo.— Chris (@CML_Texas) November 7, 2018
@mdornic, @CNN wishes they could land a real journalist and anchor like Chris Wallace. Your tweeting won't help.
— Truth Teller (@Enuff_Is_Enough) November 8, 2018
PR flunky attacks. Wallace doesn't own a PR firm (like you do) & is a real journalist, not a cable news buffoon like @acosta Keep dishing out the spin.
— Ryk Comerford (@Truth_Quest30) November 7, 2018
Are you really criticizing Chris Wallace, of all people?
— Some random thoughts (@someideasnstuff) November 7, 2018
Chris Wallace is one of the most respected journos in the business, along with Jake Tapper. There are a few others, too. Acosta isn’t one of them, and neither are you.
— Lady Steel ? (@VCSteel1) November 7, 2018
.@CNN's brand is trash because of the antics of people like @acosta and those in management who encourage it https://t.co/ppwm5CM46X
— Legal Insurrection (@LegInsurrection) November 7, 2018
CNN is a total joke, can't believe it devolved into this mess from a once respectful brand. The crash of credibility has been a sight to behold. Only on in gyms and dentist/doctor offices now. Orange Man Bad is only a temporary strategy – not sure it ever recovers from this.
— Dave McNabb ?? (@mcnabb_dave) November 7, 2018
Acosta is pretty bad. Bad faith questions, awful to the woman retrieving mic, rudely interrupting next question. Stopped being a journalist long ago.
— Patrick Breitenbach (@pbreit) November 7, 2018
Awww Matt! Are you having a nervous breakdown? If anyone works for state TV, it's @Acosta at @CNN, who has been getting marching orders from Team Hillary and Obama White House for a long time. They never held them accountable for ANYTHING, i.e. #Benghazi, #IranNukeDeal, etc. https://t.co/JqTAlA9Z3D

snarky aunt tweets are gonna be the 2019 thing

CNN employs lots of tough guys https://t.co/DDU3jwyvqh
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) November 7, 2018
Calm down, Mary.
And get Acosta under control. He’s an enemy of the people.

CNN, media home of emotional beta males.
