The narrative on the Left today (which should be pretty obvious if you’ve read any posts on the site today) is that President Trump is responsible for this morning’s mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue, just as his violent rhetoric and coded language inspired Ceasar Sayoc to allegedly send mail bombs to top Democrats, including two former presidents.
It must be weird to be so rabid a Trump supporter that you send out mail bombs and then hear the president condemn you on the news and call you a coward who’ll be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski scoured some 3,000 of Sayoc’s tweets, and it’s clear the guy was a true believer in conspiracy theories.
I went through 3,000 of Cesar Sayoc's tweets going back to Jan/2017 & it's scary how corrupted his mind was by every far right conspiracies from Podesta child sacrifices, to Obama being a Muslim, to Pizzagate. Also noticeable how his rhetoric got more threatening as time went on.

He was obsessed w/all things Trump. He went to multiple rallies, the inauguration, he visited Trump-branded properties.

What’s interesting, is his rhetoric didn’t seem to turn toward ominous threats until early this year when he started targeting TV & CNN personalities, politicians, and others. Prior to that it was all conspiracy memes and photos at Trump properties/events mixed w/personal photos.

That may be true, but it’s important to remember this guy was making bomb threats as far back as 2002 — he certainly didn’t need Trump’s guidance then to threaten to bomb a building.

There’s a real danger to the conspiracies out there especially combined with hostile and dehumanizing rhetoric. We saw it with the man who went Comet Ping Pong. People believe these things.

To our own credit, we do try to avoid conspiracy theories here at Twitchy, and we’re not sure Kaczynski has a case calling Trump’s rhetoric “dehumanizing,” unless you’re going to chide him for calling MS-13 gang members animals — something we’re fine with.

I wonder if his animus was fueled as an avid follower of Info wars. In the beginning years Jones was all about those conspiracies and in recent years adopted the efforts of Trump, ETAL. I always kept a very close eye on him and noted the very time frame he morphed for Trump

I know people in real life who have gotten more and more this way. I don't honestly think any of them would ever do something crazy or violent, but seeing them move from the realm of rational thought to not even being able to have a conversation with them has been heartbreaking.

I too went through it all. It is incredible that he posted so publicly and threatened so many people and nothing was done. Twitter’s response to @RochelleRitchie is weak and unacceptable.

Maybe some kind of mental decline. His warped philosophy that only white supremacists deserve to live is ironic. The guy couldn't read & NOT descendent of Hitler's perceived 'Great Aryan Society.' No doubt he would have been exterminated in 30 mins upon arrival at a Auschwitz.

I saw elsewhere he was threatening on Twitter, but I haven't seen the tweets myself. Do you think that his tweets should have raised red flags? Was there enough to cross the line into violating conduct rules? Because I am starting to wonder about what Twitter allows…

We’ll skip all the posts alleging Sayoc is just another everyday Republican and Trump supporter, because the Republicans we know just want to get back to creating jobs, cutting taxes, appointing judges and securing the border.
