If you’ll remember, it was just one short week after the deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Fla., that CNN hosted its town hall on the shooting, which of course looked like the Two Minutes Hate from “1984” whenever Dana Loesch or Sen. Marco Rubio tried to speak — while all the while Sheriff Scott Israel sat there blaming the NRA, knowing his school resource officer and backup never entered the building to confront the shooter.
Now CNN is having another town hall, this one featuring Texas Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke. CNN notes that Sen. Ted Cruz was invited as well, but he’ll be skipping this one.
CNN is hosting a Beto O’Rourke town hall on 10/18. Adds: " Senator Ted Cruz (R) declined CNN’s invitation to participate in the town hall."

Hmm … why would Cruz decline such an invitation?
He probably saw the one in which Rubio and I participated. https://t.co/BCjyXN02tp

Yea that was insane – never again
— Jerry Tims (@JTTims) October 9, 2018
Agreed. That was one of the ugliest displays by the left I have EVER seen.

You mean the fair and balanced debate they had with you two while you were being called murderers on stage and getting death threats!? pic.twitter.com/HPxeyOqOaa
— michael (@BigKat1557) October 9, 2018
Probably because they'll have Beto just call him a child murderer and nod in agreement https://t.co/DmGEE4HN9h
— Mujahed (@kebejay) October 9, 2018
He made the right call. Even Cameron Kasky said the goal of your town hall was to embarrass/humiliate/rant rather than listen or get any meaningful discussion done. CNN is a clownshow.

Smart man. You were ambushed, but it didn’t matter. It takes more than a bunch of mental midgets to take someone like @DLoesch down. CNN found that out the hard way, Ted would be stepping into a very well armed crossfire. Besides no one worth a damn watches that crappy network
— JWH (@AikenWriter) October 9, 2018
When you're ahead, don't do debates. Especially in THAT environment.
— defdee (@defdee) October 9, 2018
Way ahead in the polls. What would be the point in punching down, in a hostile environment, surrounded by people who are going to boo you, shout you down, and declare you the loser on every point no matter how well you do?
— stephenf (@emncaity) October 9, 2018
CNN fails to mention that Robert O'Rourke has his own history declining debates including one with Cruz where he decided to shoot a Facebook ad instead. After the last Townhall debacle hosted by CNN, no sane person would participate.

Love that Ted Cruz was smart enough not to partake in a CNN hit-hall!
— Keith Terceira (@KeithTerceira) October 9, 2018
NEVER participate in something hosted by CNN. Never ever.
— Joseph Clark (@JoeJ_Clark) October 9, 2018
Let Beto and CNN have their lovefest!
— Paul Scalice (@PaulScalice) October 9, 2018
CNN: "So Beto, why are so awesome?"
Beto: "Well, funny you should ask…"
CNN: "So, Mr Cruz, why are you so horrible?"
— Sam Casey (@scasey79) October 9, 2018
Or he knows nobody in Texas watches CNN unless they are trapped in an airport.
— Martin Miller ?? (@cepheus7mm) October 9, 2018
Texans don't watch @CNN

Shouldn't this be considered an in-kind contribution to Betito by @CNN, then?

Every media love letter comparing him to a Kennedy ought to, really.
'What the f*ck'? CNN town hall crowd has BIZARRE reaction to Dana Loesch's story of rape survivor https://t.co/vHCv9crKXh
