United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen was already on the progressives’ radar and her comments Monday certainly won’t win her any friends with those who have been comparing housing of illegal immigrant children to concentration camps.
DHS Sec. Nielsen: "Illegal actions have and must have consequences."

“We will not apologize for the job we do or for the job law enforcement does for doing the job that the American people expect us to do,” she told the National Sheriffs’ Association Monday.
Ironically, the job they do is enforce the law — and Congress makes the laws. People like Sen. Kamala Harris make the laws that border patrol agents are sworn to enforce, but rather than pass immigration reform, they’d rather see heads roll in the Trump administration.
Harris used both of her Twitter accounts Monday to call for Nielsen’s resignation.
It's time for Secretary Nielsen to resign. The government should be in the business of keeping families together, not tearing them apart. And the government should have a commitment to transparency and accountability. Under her tenure, DHS does not have a track record of either.

I’m calling on Kirstjen Nielsen to resign as Secretary of Homeland Security. Under her watch, our government has committed human rights abuses by breaking up families along the southern border. And she has failed to be accountable to and transparent with the American people.

Human rights abuses? It’s nice to see Harris not going the full Nazi route or suggesting The Hague is going to investigate the U.S., we have to admit.
Harris had tweeted this photo earlier in the day, of a detention facility in McAllen, Texas.
This is how our government is treating children at the border. There’s only one way to describe this: our government is committing a human rights abuse along the southern border. Call your representatives, and tell them to demand this Administration #KeepFamiliesTogether. pic.twitter.com/CzJLXLRcwr

Demand this administration keep families together? Maybe it’s just us, but the photo above, though not pleasant, looks a lot better than the ones Brandon Darby took back in 2014, which Twitchy featured earlier today:

We don’t remember who resigned then over these conditions, but sure, call for Nielsen to resign — it’ll play well in 2020 with people like these:
Would someone please petition the Federal courts to arrest the people responsible for kidnapping and torturing immigrant children. https://t.co/AfynTMo1Nj

I’d call for her arrest, frankly.
I’d call for a good chunk of this administration to be sent to The Hague. https://t.co/jdOESpAQUC

Remember when the acting director of ICE reminded Congress just who makes the laws his agency enforces?
