As expected, there weren’t a lot of standing ovations from members of The Resistance attending President Trump’s State of the Union address. For example, members of the Congressional Black Caucus neither stood nor applauded when Trump mentioned African-American employment being at a record low.
Members of Congressional Black Caucus offer no reaction as Pres. Trump says "African-American unemployment stands at the lowest rate ever recorded" in #SOTU address https://t.co/q18EZzVe9p pic.twitter.com/Xxkqc7hFt9

POTUS: African-American unemployment is lowest rate ever recorded. Applause in chamber. Many in CBC, however, remain seated – not clapping. #SOTU

Most of the African Americans on the House floor remained seated as the president seemed to claim credit for a low African American unemployment rate

CBC won't clap for record low black unemployment? #sotu

Black caucus not standing for lowest black unemployment numbers. Politics over everything, huh? #SOTU

It makes sense when DeRay Mckesson explains it, you see … those Republicans applauding were mocking blacks.
These ridiculous Republicans are mocking us by screaming loudest by Trump’s “black unemployment” line. #SOTU

This is a perfect example of the pain POC– specifically Black Americans feel. The presumption that we're poor and jobless and we should bow to the feet of white supremacists who think they're doing us a favor. https://t.co/i1FLgYW9wx
