On Tuesday, in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly, President Donald Trump slammed the previous administration’s nuclear deal with Iran, calling it “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the U.S. has ever entered” and an “embarrassment to the U.S.”

Trita Parsi, president of the National Iranian American Council and author of 2012’s “A Single Roll of the Dice: Obama’s Diplomacy with Iran,” knows that isn’t really the reason why Trump opposes the deal — and you know he’s serious, because he tagged the New York Daily News’ former senior justice writer in his tweet.

It’s September, and we’ve lost track of how many times people have claimed racism is driving Trump to undo every cornerstone of Barack Obama’s legacy. Or maybe the Iran deal really is embarrassingly one-sided. What does anyone else (besides Shaun King) think?
