Frankly, we didn’t think much of anything when we saw Chuck Todd’s tweets scroll past, aside from a vague suspicion he was just warming up for the day he’d have to make the big jump and type the words “President Trump” for real.
Donald

It turns out, though, that NBC News’ political director was conducting a social media experiment — one that elicited some angry reactions, to his amusement.
Amusing to read the angry tweets about my experiment.
— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) December 6, 2016
Rest assured, there was a point to the whole thing, although some news would have been appreciated instead.
Point of my last two tweets was to prove how folks on social media just jump to conclusions without really caring about the content
— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd exactly how does this demonstrate that?
— Twisted Blister RN (@Dantastic99) December 6, 2016
It’s science, stupid!
.@chucktodd I just assumed you butt tweeted.

The experiment sounds kind of interesting, we suppose. It’s like when media outlets like NBC News jump to conclusions and rush out a piece to support the desired narrative without really caring about the content or the facts.
@chucktodd uh… yeah no that didn't really prove anything
— Justin Arnold (@JustinOArnold) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd What conclusions, though? This is just weird.
— David McDowell (@dgmcdowell) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd What conclusions were jumped to?
— Clarise Tushie (@ClariseTushie) December 6, 2016
.@chucktodd Could you explain 'jump to conclusions' vs. 'retweet or like without regard to content'? Not the same thing.
— Barbara J King (@bjkingape) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd Looks more like word association rather than conclusion jumping.

@chucktodd wants to share a teachable moment. Notice how he always appoints himself teacher? Problem is u have to earn that title.
— Marc Conrad (@conrad_marc) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd Not sure you can conclude anything – less than 0.01% of your followers responded – try some other words though – could be fun
— Michael Dreyer (@MichaelDreyer) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd yikes, that's how you're spending your day?
— Thomas (@foolerytommy) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd More proof that mainstream media does Not even care about content. That's why your work is not relevant.
— PaintingTheEarth (@paintingearth) December 6, 2016
@chucktodd well that was a pretty strange experiment. Ah journalism RIP.

We have time for one last question …
@chucktodd So what is your point
