Is anyone else old enough to remember the controversy Hillary Clinton managed to whip up back in 1992 when she and Bill sat for a joint “60 Minutes” interview? One legendary country singer wasn’t thrilled to be name-checked when Hillary said she wasn’t “sitting here like some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette.”
Of course Hillary has stood by her man, at least whenever it was politically prudent. On Saturday, Melania Trump quickly shot to the top of Twitter’s trending topics when she issued a statement asking voters to stand by her man, even as the list of prominent Republicans demanding that he step aside grew.
There’s no denying her statement was short and sweet:

So, did Melania Trump display some feminist credentials by saying her husband’s words were unacceptable and offensive, or did she lose them by asking voters to forgive him?
@arappeport that isnt going to help.
