As Twitchy reported earlier Wednesday, Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, a Marine Corps captain who served in the Iraq War, struck a false note when he called for automatic rifles to be outlawed just like other weapons of war, such as grenades and anti-tank rockets.

Automatic rifles? Maybe he meant to say assault rifles. He posted of photo of himself in combat gear as proof that he knows what he’s talking about, and now he’s found backup in the form of Vice President Joe Biden, the firearms expert who told Field and Stream in 2013 that his shotgun beats an AR-15 any day, because if “you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.”

This really is uncomfortable, as we are thankful for Moulton’s service. But is it too much to stick to the facts in arguing gun control? Countless media outlets are using the horrific Orlando massacre to demonize the very loud and bazooka-like AR-15, which wasn’t even the rifle Islamic terrorist Omar Mateen was carrying, and Biden doesn’t seem in any rush to correct the record.

Kudos for probably the most tactful response possible:
