Though a spokesman for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard denied that Iran was conducting naval drills at the time, an unclassified video released in January shows Iran firing rockets within 1,500 yards of two U.S. ships, an incident one spokesman called “highly provocative.”

Also highly provocative was the capture and arrest of 10 U.S. sailors, who were released after a publicity photo shoot with rifles to their heads and a night in prison. Secretary of State John Kerry later said how “appreciative” he was of the sailors’ humane treatment and the “testament” to the power of diplomacy that was their safe release.

If any of that bothers you, don’t let it. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz says that the Iran deal is working. No nuke, no foul, right?

Let’s not get hung up on a $50 billion rounding error.

  • Andrew

The problem isn’t that Iran is going to build a bomb tomorrow. The problem is that in ten years they can claim they have fulfilled their end of the agreement, shut every one of those cameras off, and use their $100 billion (or whatever it turns out to be after all the “rounding errors” are “corrected) to build as many bombs as they want.

    • almarquardt

Their hatred for Israel and the West goes back hundreds, if not thousands of years. What’s ten more compared to that?

      • Rulz

Well, actually, we had good relations with Iran under the Shah. It’s when the radicals from Qom came that problems started.

    • DwellsInFire

It may be too late if we’re to believe headlines that have been coming out over the years like “Ukraine May Have Sold 250 Nuclear Warheads To Iran” – “All evidence suggests Iran already has nuclear warheads” – “North Korea: Iran’s Pathway to a Nuclear Weapon” and so on.

Seriously. Why does the BHO admin seem to be filled with people concerned with looking hip or young? I want serious adults in those positions. In some of them anyway. I want the entire DOE wiped from the Earth. Any necessary nuclear stuff to be handled by a much smaller DHS.

That lame-ass graphic and the Iran Deal as a whole are the kind of crap that Hillary insisted she was for and that Republicans were against. Remember that.

Don’t forget the extensive tests on the dirt the Iranians send you.

  • JayWye

by this time, the Iranians have moved enough 20% HEU to some other still-secret site to be raised to weapons-grade and machined into bomb components,so they don’t need to worry about IAEA monitoring.
Heck,Iran has probably removed several bombs worth of plutonium from the first set of Busheir fuel rods, that they ran just long enough to optimize Pu production in them.
Since Iran WAS able to build the entire Fordow facility and 1000s of centrifuges without the IAEA finding out,I’m not counting on their “monitoring” of Iran’s nuclear activities.
