Chris Matthews, who somehow managed to survive the Great MSNBC Purge of 2015, continued to demonstrate his special talent of saying something utterly ridiculous without seeming to realize it. This time, the host of “Hardball” seemed puzzled whether GOP presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio could legitimately be called Hispanic. After all, that would make the GOP field more diverse than the Democrats, and that just doesn’t compute.
