Some wise person somewhere must have said, if you have to explain that something was a joke, it probably wasn’t a very good joke. Not to be outdone by a certain Donald Trump and his hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live,” Sen. Claire McCaskill performed a skit on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last night that, frankly, wouldn’t even have made to cut to air in SNL’s last half-hour.
McCaskill lists a number of topics, from Star Wars to turkey brining, about which men should just “shut the hell up.” And that’s it. Maybe you can find the punchline hidden in the video.
The lesson here is that unfunny comedy should be left to the pros, and we all know who they are. Still, McCaskill wasn’t in the mood to defend her skit against attacks of misandry.
