Matt Drudge: 'Just paid the Obamacare penalty for not 'getting covered''

Matt Drudge tweeted today that he paid the penalty for not getting covered under Obamacare — a penalty he’s declared a liberty tax. It didn’t take long, though, for the White House and lefty blogs to declare Drudge a liar. White House spokesman Jesse Lee, for one, tweeted that Drudge’s claim was a “flat lie.”

The Huffington Post and Talking Points Memo also wrote pieces saying that Drudge was (probably) lying. Drudge fired back, though, in a series of tweets.

That link points to a “full list of Obamacare tax hikes” on Rep. Jeff Duncan’s site. The Individual Mandate Excise Tax and Employer Mandate Tax take effect in 2014. Drudge, as the owner of a small business, is paying his first quarter estimate for 2014 now.
