There are two sure signs that a 2016 White House run by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is in the cards. First, Cruz has released his birth certificate and said he’ll renounce his Canadian citizenship. Second, the mainstream media have begun their probe of Cruz’s past, with the Daily Beast tracking down not only Cruz’s college roommate but “multiple members of Princeton’s class of 1992.”

Those classmates, who didn’t share their names, described the young Cruz as abrasive, intense, strident, creepy, arrogant and intensely disliked. Writer Patricia Murphy also managed to elicit accounts of Cruz’s poker losses and the design on his bathrobe (paisley).
