Chicago public school teachers use interpretive dance to 'express their desire to feel safe' upon returning to classrooms

As far as we can tell, there haven’t been stronger holdouts against returning to the classroom than the members of the Chicago Teachers Union. As Twitchy reported Sunday, Chicago Teachers Union members voted to defy Chicago Public Schools’ reopening plans and continue working from home Monday because of health and safety concerns.

Teachers have written their own obituaries, paraded caskets down the street, and called in sick by the hundreds to protest returning to the classroom “until they know it’s safe,” which makes us wonder how they’ve been getting their groceries and toilet paper, as Walmart is more packed than a classroom. But do you know what was missing from the public relations campaign? Interpretive dance.

Six dance instructors from Chicago Public Schools put together a video using interpretive dance to “express their desire to feel safe” upon returning to the classroom and posted it to Twitter on purpose.

We don’t think these brave dance instructors are changing any hearts and minds with this video.
