It looks like this is going to be a thing under a Joe Biden administration. This summer, the Democratic candidate who as vice president urged every American to buy a shotgun, spoke on Black Lives Matter and suggested that police officers be trained to shoot in the leg an “unarmed person with a knife” who happened to be charging them.
Biden must have thought it was good advice — maybe it will be part of national training he rolls out for police departments — because again this month he suggested that police should deal with an armed attacker by shooting him in the leg.
Wolf Blitzer weighed in on the shooting in Philadelphia Monday night that led to rioting by asking why the cops didn’t “shoot to injure” the man approaching them with a knife and refusing to drop it despite several commands from officers.
Wolf Blitzer asks why the Philadelphia officers didn’t choose to “shoot to injure” instead of shooting to kill. The answer is because cops aren’t expert marksmen: None are trained to “shoot to injure” because it’s impossible to do consistently.

They're really going to go down this road en masse aren't they?
— Loren (@LorenSethC) October 27, 2020
They are trained to eliminate the threat and that’s the end of that.

Center mass.
— Bob Wigglesworth III (@IiiWigglesworth) October 27, 2020
I was always under the impression and belief that officers are trained to target the largest body mass as to eliminate collateral damage.

Bystanders would get hit. They get hit when they’re aiming for center mass. But it would be worse if they were aiming for a smaller target.

If they have to ask that question then they need to spend 24 hours with a cop and go through the training they do.

The officers' lives are worth just as much as the criminal's. That's why.
— Greg (@GreggyNY) October 27, 2020
I *am* an expert marksman (the army gave me a badge and everything) and there is no chance I’m aiming anywhere other than center mass. Hard enough to hit a moving target in those conditions.

This is truly absurd. Let’s examine two things: 1) how about the person who had the knife stop when asked- if so, no escalation; 2) police are trained to discharge there weapon as a last resort…. and when they do, neutralize the threat, suspect. Watch the video

I wish news organizations and activists would take the police use of deadly force class. Just once. If they are going to report this crap they should fully understand what it’s like to make split second decisions over another’s life.
— Tequila Operator ? (@TequilaOperator) October 27, 2020
It would also be illegal. The cops are not allowed to use their gun unless deadly force is required.
— NeoUnrealist (@NeoUnrealist) October 27, 2020
Lawyers would love the "shoot to injure" cases
— Gary Oxley (@G_Oxley12) October 27, 2020
Let's put Wolf in the exact same situation and see how he reacts. Mr. Blitzer needs to take a run at a police training course.

I am mystified that he could be a journalist with all his years of experience and not know this basic fact.
— Court Appointed Daniel (@UndeadDan) October 27, 2020
Dead cops do that. It is dangerous. They have every right to protect themselves.
— the Captal de Buch (@TheCaptal) October 27, 2020
Coupled with a high-pressure and highly dynamic situation, and fails to immediately neutralize the threat
Where available, less-than-lethal options may be considered, but suicide-by-cop is not new

The greatest red pill outside of months of riots, is the gun range.
Shooting a handgun specifically for the first time is always an eye opening experience. Much more challenging than Hollywood portrays it and immediately people understand how ridiculous a concept that is.

And that's not even the full reason. You can shoot to injure, hit the exact spot, and they will still be charging at you. The guy forfeited his right to live with his actions. They gave him plenty of time and space to make a better decision, which he didn't.
— Matt (@Knicksboy89) October 27, 2020
In the John Wick documentaries I watched recently he has perfect aim so I'm not sure what the problem is.
— Josh Brown (@joshbrwn) October 27, 2020
It's people that watch too much TV and action movies and have never even picked up a gun always spout off the whole "shoot to injure" nonsense.
— Pat Minturn (@pminturn) October 27, 2020
In a split second, like close quarters combat, or a crazy person charging you with a knife, even expert marksman arent expert marksman; center mass, Multiple rounds on target, that is training for everyone from police to tier 1.
— Matt Lancaster (@urnamma) October 27, 2020
Perhaps Wolf Blitzer should ask why the deceased didn’t drop the knife!
— Tim Lane (@TimLane01003538) October 27, 2020
So was the guy with the knife trained to " stab to injure" or "stab to kill" is the question?
— Space Daddy (@ontheracxs) October 27, 2020
Biden and liberals are asking for cops to allow themselves to be killed for reparations of the past.
If this sounds ludicrous it is. But rioters are now essentially saying, “We deserve to be completely lawless for any racial injustice. Past, present, and future.”
