Ask any good Leftist and they will tell you that Canada has THE BEST FREE Healthcare around! What they fail to tell you is that it is not really free because the taxes are insane. They neglect to mention they have to wait forever to see a Doctor, and if you need to see a specialist just give up. They forget to mention all of those awful things BUT it doesn't matter because CANADA IS WONDERFUL, THE HEALTHCARE IS FREE!!!!!
I just can not keep from rolling my eyes even as I write this because that FREE and amazing healthcare system plans to offer medically assisted death to drug addicts.

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?
Many opponents of the plan say they are just slow-rolling eugenics into Canada. Allow me to give a brief history lesson. I promise it will be as quick as possible, but it is necessary and actually interesting.
Most people think of Nazi Germany when thinking about eugenics, but many other countries began implementing sterilization laws based on eugenics in the 1920s and 1930s. A few US states as well as Canada both had laws to sterilize people based heavily on trying to rid society of genetic issues hoping to improve social problems like crime and poverty.
Those with mental health problems or alcohol addiction were at the front of the line because they linked those issues with a lot of crimes like prostitution, violence, and alcohol consumption.
Remember in the United States alcohol was illegal from 1920-1933. Canada had similar laws aimed at the same issues but Canada has a different history with prohibition, we will save that for a different time but basically, only some provinces could sell booze and others could not, but most provinces were done with that by the mid-1920s.
Of course, after the role of eugenics in the Holocaust and the rise of Hitler came to light people began to shy away and talk badly of the sterilization laws and they were withdrawn but knowing the history, we have to wonder if this Canadian plan might be the beginning of them trying to institute eugenics into the government once again.
I think it is worth asking because that plan is plain NUTS.

Zuby gets it. We are told over and over how WONDERFUL the system is in Canada. Is it really? They are offering to KILL human beings with addiction problems rather than help them. I get it, an addict can not be helped if they do not want to be helped, BUT the answer to that is not to KILL THEM.

YUP. I am not a HUGE fan of government in general. I prefer they leave me alone and just fix the potholes and protect the borders, keep up the military, and not much else but IF the government is involving itself in healthcare it should be to HELP people not to kill them.
