Another day, another person trying to take a hit at J.K. Rowling who has enough money to do anything she wants, but is still fighting for same-sex spaces for women.
The Telegraph did a piece on a young author and it was all going fine until the subject of J.K. Rowling came up.
From the Telegraph:
Cargill-Martin tries to steer clear of discussing JK Rowling – “I don’t really want to get into it…” – but then she relents: “I don’t understand why she cares so much. She has so much money – why isn’t she off buying couture in Paris, rather than fighting with people on Twitter?”
She adds: “A lot of people engaging in [the transgender debate] risk reasserting a very narrow view of womanhood – and throughout history, that’s never been good for women.”
Needless to say, this quote made some people pretty animated and ready to defend Rowling.
“I don’t understand why [Rowling] cares so much. She has so much money – why isn’t she off buying couture in Paris, rather than fighting with people on Twitter?”
Excellent point. Why do women bother doing anything, when they might be out shopping? https://t.co/lKJ8u5aUL4

EXACTLY. No matter how much money a person has, they can still have principles they hold firm and wish to advocate for.
I dunno… Could it be that Rowling has principles and beliefs that matter more to her than being universally praised and living a life of pure luxury?

It not only COULD it be that, it 100 percent IS that. If Rowling had no convictions she could have run off into the sunset and never been heard from again. Most people that hate her, hate the fact she can NOT be canceled and will keep speaking out.
A rather odd comment, from another woman who presumably would be offended if asked why she spends time studying classics when she could be off buying couture in Paris
The answer in both cases would be that they care and aren’t basely materialistic

BINGO! 10 points to Ravenclaw. We are just assuming that tweeter is in Ravenclaw because they are using their brain. 🙂
@jk_rowling came back to lift her sisters up instead of the ladder after her

YES! The fact she keeps helping others and refuses to stop is the reason most ‘Trans Radical Activists’ hate her. It is also the reason this editor likes her, other than the fact we are major Harry Potter nerds and not ashamed to admit it. 🙂
Such a time-honoured tactic at this point. Why engage with what Rowling actually says, when you can be on the supposed side of the angels by just going “urgh, she’s so cringe, why doesn’t she stop being such a Karen and shut up?” instead. https://t.co/ZurYSAmZC6

There is never any engagement as to what Rowling has actually said. They either make up things or resort to insults. Typical for most Leftists, but particularly on the subject of what the trans movement is doing to biological women.
Isn’t it the most maddening tactic? I’m neither rich nor famous, but on a regular basis, when I dare voice my perspective on a disturbing issue, someone counters with “why do you care?”. 🙄

Yes. Men who stand up for same-sex spaces and same-sex care get this too. As if men are not fathers to daughters, sons to mothers, or brothers to sisters or have any women in their lives they may have concern for … *insert eye roll*
She might be a classicist but her comments on @jk_rowling are the polar opposite of classy; saying Rowling should be spending her time & money on couture clothes, not defending women’s rights. Appalling. https://t.co/8VSUDG1dGK

Appalling is quite nice. We would classify it as egregious or horrifying. 🙂
Honor Cargill-Martin, St Paul’s and Oxford, apparently incapable of basic thinking or empathy. What is it about this subject that makes people switch their brains off? pic.twitter.com/sUliRlpQrI

The quote is from this interview, in which she talks at length about how hard it is to be taken seriously as a woman – then Rowling comes up and it's WHY IS SHE DOING POLITICS WHEN SHE COULD BE SHOPPING? https://t.co/J7o14pjZ0z
— Ian Leslie (@mrianleslie) May 3, 2023
We think people are turning their brains off on purpose because any use of logic in these arguments would lead them to say allowing biological men in same-sex spaces and in women’s sports is insane and they can not do that so they pretend facts and logic do not exist.
"I don’t understand why she (JK Rowling) cares so much. She has so much money – why isn’t she off buying couture in Paris, rather than fighting with people on Twitter?"
Sorry…What!!

The level of ignorance thrown at Rowling to protect absurdity is disgusting and leads us to question the real purpose behind the radical faction of the trans movement.
We along with Rowling think adults can behave, dress, and be whatever they want. The problem arises when harm comes to others. Some same-sex spaces, same-sex care, and protecting girls in sports MUST be a priority and no matter how many people disagree with Rowling she is not going to back down and neither are we.
