If a boy can just say he is a girl and be accepted then Gwen Stefani can be Japanese. Neither Gwen nor this editor actually believes she is Japanese. In the ALLURE article below, if you choose to read it, Stefani expresses her love of various cultures, but the author of the article wanted to take the ‘cultural appropriation’ route, so we will pretend along with her that Stefani actually believes she is Japanese. So, again, how can one identify as a different sex and be declared as that sex but they can not identify as a race and be that race? We did not make these rules. We are simply pointing them out.
Fourteen years after the debut of her Harajuku Lovers fragrance collection, we asked Gwen Stefani about the praise, the backlash, and the lessons she’s brought into her most recent beauty venture. What she said stunned us.https://t.co/9Ajqy1uvYF

From the allure piece:
“If [people are] going to criticize me for being a fan of something beautiful and sharing that, then I just think that doesn’t feel right,”
~ Gwen Stefani
what did she say? where is the interview? why did i read an interviewer's impression of the interviewee, rather than the interview itself? are you insane? https://t.co/Aa5MnmaRxG

We agree. Although the piece does have quotes from Gwen, it seems to be more about the author’s feelings and not an interview per se. We get it, the article you are reading right now is about what THIS EDITOR and some other Twitter users think, but we are not trying to sell it as anything other than what it is, and we are pretty sure that makes a difference.

Publication – Before &. After – Social Media.
2005- selling well. 2023—— —————————clicks! 🙏🤦🏻♀️ pic.twitter.com/HNBZESrIGW— Magda Stenzel 🇧🇷🇺🇸 (@magstenzel) January 11, 2023
Allure has never been at the forefront of journalism but the difference in how they sold Gwen Stefani at the height of her music fame versus today in the social media age is glaring.
I hope Gwen never gives Allure another interview and no apology! Nothing wrong with celebrating cultures!

That user understood the assignment. Allure did not.
If you took her comments to mean that she literally thought she was a Japanese person, why did the interviewer not just ask her that question directly?
“Gwen, when you say you’re Japanese, do you mean that you are literally a Japanese person?”
Seems pretty easy to clear up…
— Travis (@travisinLB) January 10, 2023
Correct, it would have been very easy to ask DURING the initial interview, but then they could not have written an article about Gwen Stefani thinking she is literally Japanese and how offended they are so that probably had a lot to do with it.
Omg, cancel culture is coming for @GwenStefani? 😂😂😂 I am now Japanese too. Come at me GenZ! Smh. How can we be a "melting pot" if not allowed to melt?

This feels like a ploy to create outrage and drive clicks. I thought 'The Beauty Expert' might actually have a review of her GXVE product line, but instead you're just bashing her 😑
— Kathy ✩ (@kathygarfield) January 10, 2023
It is 2023 and the age of ‘we are offended by everything and everything is offensive’ so just a review of the product line would not have been any fun. There is no victimhood in that!
*Listens to 'The Vapors – Turning Japanese' once* https://t.co/PbMA8ZPORW

This song was in our heads the entire time we were reading through the tweets. You are welcome because it is probably in your head now!
Why is this offensive?🤔She appreciates & loves the culture. Good for her! Do people think she is being literal?😂 https://t.co/MREok9UaGV
— Trinity (@Trinity39602982) January 10, 2023
They do not really think that but they ARE pretending to think that. 🙂
I hate this article. The intellectual frailty of this writer is only surpassed by her loooong stretch toward victimhood. @gwenstefani has long been open abt her respect for Japanese culture, esp. Harajuku culture. Show some damn respect for this QWEEN
https://t.co/CrhY7HoFuh— Kira (@RealKiraDavis) January 11, 2023
YASSS! The article is a LOOOOONG stretch just for the author to pretend to be a victim, but it has been quite a bit of fun pointing out the Leftist culture war hypocrisy.
“This sh*t is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.” https://t.co/RruWYijHa1
— Emma Michiko (@emmamichiko) January 10, 2023
In closing, we ask yet again if we pretend to believe Stefani thinks she is Japanese, why is it a bad thing? Playing by the Left’s rules, you ARE what you identify as, why is race not included in these identities? The answer of course is: Current WOKE culture is B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
Gwen – we think your best bet is ‘Don’t Speak’ to Allure.
