Rolling Stone reports author faked her own suicide and we don't know what to think about it

Rolling Stone is not exactly a bastion of conservatism so some of you may be wondering why we are even covering this story – the answer is simple, we cannot believe it happened. People are wild and do really dumb things, but one author faked her own death by suicide and remained ‘dead’ for over 2 years before resurfacing and we just found it so outside the norm that it needed to be covered.

Quick recap: Susan Meachen claimed she was bullied in the ‘book world’, had a group she led, and then faked her own death by suicide. A post appeared in the group supposedly by her daughter saying Susan had committed suicide. There was a lot of finger-pointing and talk about how awful the book community was and Susan randomly comes back to the group to say she is alive after more than two years’ time. This honestly seems like it would make for a really good book.

We would read it.

Elvis, Michael Jackson, and so many others. Could the conspiracy theorists be right?

Facts. This is why we say it could be a really good book. We are not condoning her behavior, we are just saying it has enough twists and turns and psychopathic behavior to make for a good read for FICTION, just not good in reality.

Having known people who have had issues with mental health, the behavior in real life is not acceptable. WHO DOES THIS!?!?! We can relate to needing a break from social media, but you say, ‘Going to go off social media for a while and be back soon.’ You do not FAKE YOUR SUICIDE!

Is it funny? We do not think so, but it is 100% wild. It is literally insane and some of the comments made us want to laugh, but good grief, we just hope the lady gets some help ASAP.

Meachen thinking she could just pop back on her old social media group and say, ‘Hey guys, I am alive,’ and it just be accepted by the group proves to us even more that she is not ok. Yes, we are poking a little fun at the situation because it is one of those things where you are so uncomfortable you start the nervous laughter. Have you ever been at a funeral and someone does something and you have to hold in a laugh? Never? Just us? OK well, it is like that, so when it happens to you, you will understand.

2023 has started out with a wild ride and we are 5 days in. Between this story and the speaker of the house drama, we are not sure how we feel, but we can not say it has not been interesting.
