Katie Hobbs who is running against Kari Lake to be Governor of Arizona has had several blips in her run for Governor. Her refusal to debate should be the top story in the campaign but it looks like a Northam-like issue has popped up. Hobbs was on the committee which designed and promoted her spirit week in high school as a freshman, and in that spirit week, there was ‘Slave Day’ on which students were sold to upperclassmen for the day and required to perform tasks with some even wearing collars and leashes.

This editor does not really think this should be a big deal or a story at all, but the left has made things like this a story. The left has brought this insanity onto all of us. If a person has ever thought a thought or been adjacent to another person who thought a thought about slavery or could be made to be about a person of color in any way they have to be brought to the political gallows. While we do not agree with the treatment, we are big proponents of you reap what you sow and we just want them to play by the same rules no matter which letter is behind the name.
It was a silly HS thing nothing even similar. Nothing to do with race.

We do not disagree. We wish everyone could just talk about the policies and issues at hand, but the left is not ok with that, and if they want to play dirty, we just want them to play by the rules they have set.

Decent people do not want their lives put under the microscope for microaggressions they may have accidentally committed in their teen years. Again, we wish it were different, but this is how it is. We do not like the game, and we hate the rules, but when only one side is subjected to the crappy rules, it is fundamentally unfair.

If it were not for double standards the left would have no standards at all.
While this silly game can be exhausting our hope is that if we push the Democrats to be held to their own standards for GOP candidates, the game may change. Keep fighting for sanity Twitchy readers, but not too much sanity, because then we may not have as many silly stories to point and laugh about.
