The official account for the City of Guelph, Ontario, Canada tweeted a photo of their rainbow crosswalk and encouraged people to tell them what they think so they could feel included. The comments must not have been going very well because they turned them off.
THAT DOES NOT MAKE US FEEL VERY INCLUDED! How rude!
We’re installing a rainbow crosswalk this month and we want to hear what you need from us as a City to feel included, safe and celebrated in Guelph. Comments are anonymous. Let us know here by May 14: https://t.co/jFMOX1at1z pic.twitter.com/0u6MZurOcW

We have turned off comments on this post to ensure that all those who view it can do so in an environment that is respectful to all.

The fact Guelph failed its own inclusivity test was hilarious to most people, but it is Canada so we should have expected the passive-aggressive behavior. Ask for comments then turn them off and pretend they are morally upright and above those of you who may not agree with them.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. pic.twitter.com/TFPl2Jsi7w

In their defense, they probably thought the audience would be mostly Canadians who would not say if they did not agree anyway. 🙂
Many people did get quite a kick out of the fact they left the original tweet asking for comments when they could have deleted it and just made a new post NOT asking for the comments.
Leftists: Ask for comments . . . turns off replies. https://t.co/LyNhRe6b5z

We’re installing a rainbow crosswalk this month and don't want to hear what you think and feel. Comments are turned off because we are scared of truths being displayed. #cndpoli https://t.co/ln6MwY15Dx

We have no idea what the comments said, but they must have been bad for them to turn them off.

A lot of people wanted to point out that the BRIDGE in the photo could use some work and the paint may have been put to better use.
That bridge could use a coat of paint. If only there a paint budget. https://t.co/pwHkfKvIph

That bridge looks to be in awful shape. Maybe invest a little wiser? https://t.co/RJf3eBtE6R

I would feel more included if you had used taxpayer dollars to paint that nasty, rusted trestle instead. https://t.co/MYgfk00trd

HA!! The bridge does not look like it is as nice as the crosswalk. 🙂

While that is kind of harsh, there is a correlation between mostly liberal cities and crime rates. We are not suggesting that the LGBTQ+ community creates the crime. Crime increases are generally created by Leftist politicians who go soft on crime or want to defund the police.
The Leftist politicians are the ones who think painting a rainbow crosswalk will make the LGBTQ+ community feel included. In reality, LGBTQ+ people want the same things as everyone else. Nice neighborhoods, low crime rates, good jobs, and a good economy. It is not that hard, but Leftist politicians never seem to think that way.

HA! That one made us chuckle. Imagine everyone on the city council making burner accounts just to like and RT the rainbow crosswalk tweet.

It is Canada, they are used to their tax dollars being used for all kinds of insanity, but Guelph should not have asked for comments if they could not handle any opposition.

Welp, that will probably happen and even if not on purpose it will be framed as evil right-wing antics.
We do not really care if there is a rainbow crosswalk but do not ask for opinions and say you are inclusive if you can not handle it when people disagree. Guelph should check itself. 😉
